BK CUP vol. 2 in Espoo - info for competitors!
The year's second BK CUP will be at BK Espoo on 21.3.! We've made some small adjustments so that you would have a nicer experience competing + a surprise!
🕺Only registered competitors are allowed to climb during the competition time from 18.00 to 21.00. After the comp they are everyone’s game!
🕺We have reserved more walls (A - F) for the competition in order to minimize queuing. Routesetting starts on the 19th of March by stripping old problems.
🕺We kindly ask you to sign up beforehand in Problemator! By Wednesday the 19th would be grand, thank you very much! If time flies by, no problem, you can still sign up on the comp day.
🕺 All competitors need to visit the cashier for registration before the comp starts. To avoid queues, please come and register directly when you arrive! Or do it even before comp day!
Then to the goodies:
🪩 Sauna is on (grab your towel and swimsuit too!), DJ A2 Pulley will be dropping wild beats during the comp and we also decided to set up a panini stand for the hungry ones. Once the comp is over, we’ll have a raffle among all the competitors. Nice product prizes available once again 🙌
🪩 And then to the surprise part!!! We’ll have an honor of hosting a guestsetter Fedir Samoilov from @emotionholds!! Fedir is an IFSC routesetter and an experienced comp climber who will not come empty handed!! As a souvenir he’ll bring some sweet holds from the Emotion Holds catalogue. This means we’ll get some brand new holds and unique problems at this comp💥💥💥
🪩 Again, we’ll have categories for those who climb sixes, for teams (build your own team!!) as well as the Masters category for climbers of age 40+ and of course the main category which is open for everyone! Plenty to choose from!

PRODUCT OF THE MONTH: Lattice Training equipment
YESSS! Some of you may have already noticed that Lattice's extensive training equipment selection has landed in the shops at BK’s gyms in all its glory! A really good set with something for every climber!
🔥MX Edge - a great tool for both outdoor climbers to warm up and for any sort of finger training. The ergonomic design makes this fingerboard a safe and effective training tool! It comes in two sizes: for larger hands and for smaller fingers.
🔥The lifting Pin is a great tool when you need extra weight for pull-ups, pinch training or other climbing exercises. Buy a pin grip with it and you'll also get a great tool for resistance training.
🔥The Lattice Flex Mat is a durable and beautiful cork mat with a natural rubber base that can withstand even the most intense stretching. The mat has a measuring scale that makes it easy to track your progress. It also goes well with the Flex Block to help you achieve your mobility goals.
🔥 Quad Block for pinch training (because you can never be too strong at pinching) and Heavy Roller for strengthening wrists, extensors and flexors.
🔥The Peanut Roller works great for self-massage for stiff muscles and the Foamie does wonders for warming up and recovering fingers.
🔥With resistance bands and weight plates suitable for Lifting Pins, you can do additional and strength training.
You can find all these products and much more in the BK Webshop!
Hello from the BK gyms!
Last weekend, our head coach Timo was representing SKIL's competition committee and supporting athlete's as a coach in the Nordic Bouldering Championships in Copenhagen. Finland brought home many medals, including our junior coach Jessica Knifsund who won a gold medal! Congrats to Jessica and of course all other participants.
A shipment of gym equipment has found it's way to the gyms: Herttoniemi's new warm-up area got some wallbars, Kino's training cave some gym mats and Konala bigger dumbbells from Pasila. Some more dumbbells are being ordered in the future! In addition, Espoo will get some more war-up are upstairs next to the spray wall when new exercise bikes will arrive. Thank you everyone for giving us feedback - this way we can keep improving our gyms and training facilities!
In Herttoniemi, Juho R. has arranged a sofa for all Kilter crankers. Enjoy!
In the office, Sari and Inka have compiled an info package about outdoor bouldering. There you'll find outdoor climbing's etiquette, links to the Outdoor Bouldering 101 blog post, crash pad rental and other useful info! Check it out here.
Espoo will soon start to get ready for Friday's BK CUP and the routesetting team will roll up their sleeves on Wednesday morning when the walls A - F will be stripped down. Routesetting will continue on Thursday and Friday until the competition starts at 18.00. No worries, there will still be plenty to climb in the gym and don't forget to check out the routes in Flash!
