Boulderkeskus is building more climbing in Konala!

Beloved Konala will get the renovation it deserves in July when more premises will be freed up for our use! Read below how the renovation affects your climbing in BK Konala!

Lots of new fun and improvements

We are renewing the comfort and versatility of the facilities - this is how we offer better climbing and training to more people, while still preserving Konala's irreplaceable atmosphere and most beloved characteristics.

With the new facilities, we will be able to build a completely new, great space for beginners and children. This space will replace the current changing rooms and gym when it moves to the current store premises. The entrance will also move and we will have a wonderful BK shop and reception desk on the Ruosilantie side. There is a door from the store directly to the climbing gym, with the tube located above the door. In addition, stairs lead from the store upstairs to the new dressing rooms. Upstairs there is also a stretching and warm up space and a meeting/birthday party room.

The mattresses and lighting will be completely renewed, and the walls partially - however, keeping the most important and beloved shapes. In place of the current campus wall, we get a great new training wall: Tension Board 2!

Schedule of the renovation

The new side, where we will get the new changing rooms, the shop and the entrance, will be ready in the second week of July. After that, from July 12th onward, the entrance during opening hours will be from the new side, i.e. from the doors on the Ruosilantie side. The current entrance will continue to serve annual members and other climbers outside of opening hours. Since the current side with the gym area is under renovation, the training opportunities are more limited than usual. During the renovation, some renovation noise may be heard during climbing, when the current changing rooms are being demolished to make way for some new climbing wall. Sorry for this inconvenience! It will definitely be quieter in the evening, because the renovation work is concentrated during the working hours.

In the last weeks of July and the beginning of August (week 30 to week 33), the gym is completely closed, also for annual members and Premium card users: that's when the walls and mattresses are renovated. If we're faster, as we hope, we'll let you know as soon as it's ready!
