Newsletter from BK 6.5.

Hello, dear BK friends!

All good things come to an end, like the first of May celebrations but worry not, there’s still good stuff coming up like the Ascension day and Mother's Day! And climbing for sure never ends because THE SUMMER PASS IS SOON HERE! Check more info below!

The best deal of the summer, BK’s summer pass, is coming again! Summer passes are available as of Tuesday 7.5.! Our prices changed on first of May, but the summer pass is still going strong with last year's prices - that’s a super good deal:

  • 2-month normal pass: 135€
  • 2-month Premium 24/7 pass: 160€

You can buy a 2-month card until 31 July - the card is valid for 2 months from the date of purchase

  • 3-month normal pass: 165€
  • 3-month premium 24/7 pass: 225€

You can buy the card until June 30 - the card is valid for 3 months from the date of purchase.

Enjoy the summer climbing whether it’s rainy or sunny! A mosquito free zone and quality climbing is guaranteed.

On the Ascension Day 9.5. we have weekend opening hours:

Pasila, Konala and Herttoniemi: 12.00 - 18.00

Espoo: 10.00 - 18.00

On Sunday 12.5. we celebrate one of the most important days of the year: MOTHER’S DAY!

Boulderkeskus offers moms the entrance when they come and climb with their kids on this special day. Welcome with the whole family!

P.s. Get the best mother’s day gifts from BK Shop - a gift card is always a winner choice! You can find our webshop here.

So on the 17th of May: BANG BANG it’s BK CUP time!! See you there at Herttoniemi around 18.00! If you have the stamina, you can climb until midnight but perhaps a few hours of climbing will do and then some sauna? Sauna is on until the gym closes at 21.00. Take your swimming suit, it’s a unisex sauna this time.

Want to learn more about the BK CUP? Here’s the link. Everyone’s welcome to climb and sauna!

We declare the cap season officially started! At BK, you can find the most climbing-credible, comfortable and certainly the most handsome sun protecting caps of all times. Some in the selection are now 15% OFF! The selection varies from store to store, but you can see all the options in the webshop. Have fun shopping!

Newsletter series: Climbing etiquette

There are many "unwritten rules" in climbing, and there are many types of climbers in the gyms. In order to make climbing as comfortable as possible for everyone, we decided to start a column in the newsletter where we go through (especially Boulderkeskus') climbing etiquette - of course, many instructions apply anywhere!

Climbing outdoors

When climbing outside, it is especially important to take care of the common rules of the game, so that we can continue climbing in the opened places in the future as well and no additional damage is caused to nature by climbers.

You can find the most up-to-date access information on the 27crags topo app and SKIL's access pages: website and Facebook. Please read these before the outdoor climbing session! In addition, you can check out the fun and comprehensive videos about outdoor climbing etiquette on SKIL's website. Below, however, are the most important rules to keep in mind:

1. Park your car so that it does not block the way of the landowner, rescue vehicles or tractors etc.

2. Use ready-made paths so that the forest floor is worn as little as possible. Do not walk through fields or yards.

3. Follow everyman's rights: don't noise pollute, litter or make a fire during a wildfire warning. Also brush off tick marks and extra chalk as you leave. Climbing is everyman's right, but moss removal is not. Note! Limited everyman’s rights apply in Åland: you need e.g. a permit for camping and open fires are completely prohibited.

4. If you want to open routes, you need permission from the landowner! You can find more detailed instructions here.

5. Consider other climbers and nature users and be kind to the landowner as well!

Enjoy your time outdoors! If you need help with starting climbing outside, check out our outdoor bouldering course - we’ll have some coming up soon! Stay tuned for our social media (@boulderkeskus on Instagram and Facebook) and our website.
