First BK CUP of the year will be in Herttoniemi on January 12th
BK CUP 2024 - Finland's oldest bouldering cup is here again in January! The first competition is held in Herttoniemi on Friday 12.1. The legendary BK CUP is an one-day comp that is organized every month and has climbing for everyone!
This year the competition goes through a few small changes:
- Flashes matter! Flash a problem and you get more points.
- The categories are “women” and “open” so that everyone can participate in the comp comfortably.
BK CUP is a competition open to everyone, where annual members compete for free and other climbers for a small fee of 10 euros (+entrance)! The prizes are epic: the best will win an annual membership and great prizes will be drawn among all participants!
Whose name will be engraved on the trophy? Who wins an annual membership? Who gets lucky in the draw? Come and find out! Everyone is welcome - you don't have to be an experienced competition champion to participate.

Epiphany opening hours 6.1.
All BK gyms are open normally during Epiphany, Saturday January 6th.
BK Espoo is open from 10.00 to 18.00.
BK Konala, Pasila and Herttoniemi are open from 12.00 to 18.00.
Welcome to climb!
BK Espoo will host the FINNISH BOULDERING CHAMPIONSHIPS IN 2024!!!
In the two-day competition on 1st and 2nd of March there are qualifiers, semi-finals and finals. The main routesetter will be our wonderful guest of honor Olga Niemiec @olga_niemiec from Poland, who has been setting in many IFSC competitions! The rest of the team, of course, consists of BK's own routesetting stars.
We promise that the competitions will be harder, better, faster and stronger than ever! We will send you more information soon and you can already save the date in your calendar ;).
Do you still have some 2023 sport vouchers in your pockets?
Use your vouchers before their expiry date and exchange them for climbing!

Training Groups in Espoo and Pasila start next week!
The popular Training groups are starting on the second week of January BK Pasila and BK Espoo! Pasila's English speaking Training group will start on Tuesday 9.1. and Espoo's group on Thursday 11.1.
The Training Groups are for climbers who are not interested in having serious training objectives but are seeking guidance, structure and company for their climbing sessions. All levels of climbers are most welcome! Come and join!
Free guided climbing lessons for 13- to 20-year-olds - JUMPPI
The city of Espoo and Boulderkeskus are together offering free guided climbing lessons for 13- to 20-year-olds. The lessons are on Thursdays from 16.00 to 17.00 at Boulderkeskus Espoossa (Niittyrinne 2 B). No need to register beforehand, and you'll get free rental shoes for the duration of the lesson.
The spring season starts on the 11.1.2024 and ends on the 25.5.2024. There's no climbing lessons during public holidays and school holidays.

SKIL’s (Finnish Climbing Association) part of the membership fee is 71€ for adults and 65€ for juniors.
The payment system of the membership fee will be renewed in 2024. Now you can pay your membership fee and at the same time update your membership information directly via the form on the website. The membership is valid as soon as you pay the membership fee.

Groups
BK Climber’s junior groups are climbing at Espoo, Herttoniemi, Konala and Kino in Lauttasaari from 14.8. until mid-December. Check out the groups’ schedule here. More info on the groups and BK Climbers can be found on the BKC's website www.bkclimbers.com.
